The Libby family of Libby's Sporting Camps in Ashland is the 2010 recipient of the Hall of Fame Tourism Award, the Maine Tourism Association announced this week.

The award will be presented at the association's 89th annual meeting, which will take place May 19 at the Point Lookout Resort and Conference Center in Northport.

The Libby family was selected for its outstanding contributions to Maine's hospitality and tourism industry, according to the association.

Established in 1890, the camps have been run by the Libby family for five generations. The camps were named the 2006-2007 Lodge of the Year by Orvis and Best Nature Vacation in 2009 by Yankee Magazine. The camps are also featured in "Greatest Fishing Lodges of North America," by Paul Ferson.
