Gerard Rancourt and the former Karen Quirion were married June 7th, 1985 at St. John the Baptist Church in Winslow followed by a reception at the Winslow VFW. They now have 4 children. Derek and Mike have graduated from college and Ryan is pursuing his degree at the University of Maine. They also have a young daughter, Kristen, 8 years old who attends Winslow Elementary.
On June 4th friends and family surprised Gerry and Karen with a beautiful 25th anniversary party at the same reception hall where they celebrated their wedding 25 years earlier.
Fifty people attended the party, many attendees from their wedding were present, including Gerry's brother, Fred Rancourt who gave a toast to the couple. Family friend Christine Boisvert made the 5-tiered wedding-style cake for the party.
Gerry and Karen's children and girlfriends had been planning the party with their Memere, Lorraine Quirion, for four months and they are proud to say they were able to keep it a surprise until they arrived at the VFW.
Gerry and Karen were touched by the event and have said they will remember the party for the rest of their lives.
