FARMINGTON — Franklin County Soil and Water Conservation District will host Dave Fuller, of the University of Maine Cooperative Extension, to talk about how to prune apple trees, young or old.

An inside session starts at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 12, at the Extension Office, 138 Pleasant St.

Bring snowshoes as the class will move outside for a hands-on example of how to make your apple tree one step closer to producing better fruit.

Bring a bag lunch if you plan to stay for the afternoon session starting at 12:30 p.m., given by conifer expert Walter Gooley, retired Maine state forester.

The inside session will be held in Gooley’s outside building at the end of the Cowen Hill Road, off Route 27.

Registration for either session cost $18 until April 7 or $20 after April 7. Take $5 off if signing up for both pruning sessions. Pick up a form at either the Extension or the FCSWCD Offices. Make checks payable to FCSWCD and mail it to 107 Park St., 04938. Space is limited to 20.
