PITTSFIELD — The Pittsfield Public Library will host a Bone Builders demonstration from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31. The osteoporosis prevention exercise program is sponsored by the HealthReach Retired and Senior Volunteer Program.

Bone Builders consists of three parts in the one-hour session. First, weight-bearing exercises with free weights to increases muscle strength and bone density. Second, balance training. Third, an education component in which nutrition and other relevant healthy life style topics are discussed.

The free four-week course will be offered from Feb. 7 to March 1 at the library. A doctor’s release form is required to participate.
