Farmers' Market offering discount

SKOWHEGAN -- The Skowhegan Farmers' Market is offering a 50 percent discount to shoppers who hold an Electronic Benefits Transfer card as part of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.

Farmers at the market receive the full price for their products, but EBT customers pay half. The program is called Double Dollars, and there is $8,000 available for EBT customers this year.

The market is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday through early October.
