Haunted hayrides available in China

CHINA -- The Devil's Den Haunted Hayride and Fall Festival is scheduled for 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at Windy Ridge Deer Farm, 75 Dirigo Road. The first hayride starts at dusk; 92 Moose will broadcast live to celebrate the opening.

The program, run by Jean Brown and Joe Sears, begins Sept. 29, and will run Thursdays through Sundays through Oct. 30. Hours will be 4 to 11 p.m. Children 10 and younger can visit Pumpkinland, which includes a hayride.

On Columbus Day the programs will run from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Admission to Pumpkinland cost $7 for children, with parents admitted free. Evening hayrides cost $12.50 per person.

Part of the proceeds will benefit the Weeks Mills Volunteer Fire Department and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
