FARMINGTON — University of Maine at Farmington computer science students will meet with Maine information technology professionals and employers on the UMF campus for networking and career building. The session will be 4-5:30 p.m. Monday in North Dining Hall in Olsen Student Center.

According to a press release, the reception is sponsored by Project>Login, the newest program of Educate Maine — a business-led organization whose mission is to champion college and career readiness and increased education attainment. It is one of a series of events held at University of Maine System campuses with computer science, computer engineering and IT degree programs to bring students and employers together.

The event will feature professionals from Cianbro, Dead River, Unum, WEX and the State of Maine Office of Information Technology and more.

Business representatives will meet with students to talk about the role of IT in their companies and discuss opportunities for internships and co-ops and the need to hire qualified graduates.
