The Let's Go! priority strategies are: provide healthy choices for snacks and celebrations, limit unhealthy choices, provide water and low-fat milk, limit or eliminate sugary beverages, provide nonfood rewards, provide opportunities for children to get physical activity every day, and limit recreational screen time.
This past year, Educare's Child and Family Services work included these strategies in their policy, created environmental changes by developing a nutrition and physical activity screening for children, amended the previous outdoor play procedure, updated their family handbook to be reflective of Let's Go! 5-2-1-0, and offered cooking classes for parents.
