FARMINGTON -- Neighbors Helping Neighbors recently donated $200 to Town Taxi designated for Franklin Memorial Hospital patients in need of a ride.
To request a taxi, call Town Taxi at 860-8646.
Town Taxi owner Rod Judkins will let Neighbors Helping Neighbors know when the funds have been depleted.
Organizers hopes the service will be used by any hospital department or Franklin Health medical practice that has a patient in need of a ride.
Neighbors Helping Neighbors is a community-based organization benefiting Franklin County residents and organizations. The organization has raised money by hosting a scavenger hunt and barn dance, and plans are under way for an April Fools' treasure hunt.
Neighbors Helping Neighbors is in its organizational phase and hopes to become a local nonprofit organization. Until then, fundraising efforts are staged noncharity events and activities.
