Traveling history display can be viewed in Skowhegan

SKOWHEGAN -- Skowhegan History House traveling display, hosted by the Somerset Sports and Fitness Center, 6 Commerce Drive, is available for viewing. The display, "The Good Ole Days, Men and Their Tools," highlights tools from the nineteenth century including surveying transit used by Levi Weston to survey the early parcels of property in Skowhegan and the surrounding areas. A hand-crafted garden fork will also be on display. The tool was made and used by James H. K. Lord, a blacksmith and early resident of the building which now serves as the Skowhegan History House & Research Center.
