UMF announces newly-elected officers

FARMINGTON -- University of Maine at Farmington President Theodora J. Kalikow announces Nancy Marshall and Alison Hagerstrom have been elected as the chairwoman and vice-chairwoman of the UMF Board of Visitors.

The University's Board of Visitors includes local business and civic leaders who are committed to UMF's missions as the state's public liberal arts college and the educational, economic and cultural well-being of the region.

Marshall, named a "Star of PR" by PR News, a national industry trade publication, is the president and founder of Maine's largest public relations agency, Nancy Marshall Communications.

Hagerstrom is executive director of the Greater Franklin Development Corporation. In 2006, she was chosen as the Franklin Journal and Livermore Falls Advertiser's first-ever "Person of the Year." She is a former Farmington business owner with more than 20 years of manufacturing and management experience.

On May 24, by University of Maine System Board of Trustee approval, Dana Bullen, Sharon Cullenberg, Chris DeMerchant, Edward Fox, Ray Glass, Sandra Goodwin, Bruce Hazard, Peter Judkins, Lisa Park Laflin, Lorna Nichols and John Ritzo were elected to serve a three-year terms. They will join Gerald Cayer, Alison Hagerstrom, Eileen Kreutz, Lee Anne Larsen, Nancy Marshall, Charles Murray, Vici Robinson, Tanya Swain and Linus Travers currently serving on UMF's Board of Visitors. Serving in an advisory capacity at the end of their terms are Richard T. Bjorn, Lou Hight, Paul Mills, John Witherspoon and former chairwoman Barbara Woodlee.
