WATERVILLE — Waterville’s annual Winter Carnival is slated for 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Quarry Road Recreation Area.

Activities will include a ski-wax and race demo, snow golf and a winter story walk. Ski and snowshoe equipment will be available for children and adults to try on a limited basis at the event. Trailside food and hot beverages will be provided complements of local restaurants and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Admission is free, while donations in support of the trails will be accepted. Adults and children of all ages and abilities are welcome. Stickers to support the area will be available for donations of $20, $50 or $100. Friends of Quarry Road will be available to talk about the new snowmaking system and their capital campaign for future enhancements of the area.

Dogs will not be allowed at the event. Limited parking will be available along Quarry Road and a free shuttle service will be provided by the Kennebec Explorer and Central Maine Motors.
