Hardy, Putnam receive degrees

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- Two local students received degrees during Skidmore College's May 18 102nd commencement at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center.

Fairfield's Elwellearns degree

WILLIMANTIC, Conn. -- Laura Elwell, of Fairfield, graduated May 14 from Eastern Connecticut State University with a bachelor of general studies degree in psychology. The university's 123rd commencement took place at the XL Center in Hartford.

KEENE, N.H. -- Two local students received degrees during Keene State College's May 11 commencement.

Skowhegan-Madison Elks grant helps fund community garden

SKOWHEGAN -- A groundbreaking ceremony was held June 13 for a vegetable garden at the Skowhegan Community Center, thanks to a $2,000 grant from the Elks National Foundation, according to a Greater Somerset Public Health Collaborative press release.
