Augusta school board talks budget, hires on Wednesday

AUGUSTA — The Board of Education meets Wednesday to work on next year’s proposed school budget.

The meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. with a board tour of Capital Area Technical Center, before moving to the cafeteria at 6:15 p.m.

Shortly after convening in the cafeteria, board members are expected to enter into a closed-door session to interview a candidate for a staff position. They are scheduled to resume public session after the interview.

In public session, board members are scheduled to work on next year’s school budget. The board will also consider accepting the nomination of Shelby Thibodeau as assistant special education director. Thibodeau is an associate program director of education for Spurwink Services in Chelsea.
