AUGUSTA — Police were called to Rite Aid Pharmacy, 2007 North Belfast Ave., about 8:45 p.m. Thursday for a reported bomb threat. The store was evacuated and no injuries were reported.
Sgt. Christopher Shaw said a similar type of threat have made at other Rite Aid pharmacies across Maine recently and could be part of a scam.
Police called for a bomb-sniffing dog at the store’s request.
Shaw said it appeared the store would open as usual on Friday. It normally closes at 9 p.m.
