CLINTON — Town Manager Aaron Chrostowsky resigned during a selectmen meeting Tuesday, but few details were available Wednesday.

Chrostowsky wasn’t available for a reporter’s questions. A town employee said Chrostowsky was out of the office Wednesday and efforts to reach him at his Waterville apartment were unsuccessful.

Selectman Ed Blanchard said Chrostowsky announced his resignation during an executive session Tuesday, but he would remain at his post until the end of the year. Blanchard referred all other questions to board Chairman Jeff Towne, who didn’t immediately respond to a reporter’s phone message.

The town’s other selectmen — Randy Clark, Geraldine Dixon and Ronnie Irving — also didn’t immediately respond to a reporter’s messages.

Both Blanchard and town employee Melody Fitzpatrick said Chrostowsky circulated an official letter of resignation at the meeting, but neither was able to provide a copy, nor share the contents of the letter.
