Incumbent Raymond Wallace, R-Dexter, won in nearly every town to keep his House District 24 seat Tuesday.
Wallace beat David Pearson, D-Dexter, 2,109 to 1,700.
Pearson won in Athens 192-188 and Wallace won the other communities. Wallace took Charleston 440-193, Dexter 823-814, Garland 300-226, Harmony 231-190 and Ripley 127-85.
Wallace, 63, a retired pattern maker at the Dexter Shoe Company who served one year in the House after a special election last year, supports research of a proposed east-west highway and the development of small businesses.
