SKOWHEGAN — The five people injured in a two-vehicle crash on state Route 150 on Saturday evening have been released from a local hospital.

Deputy Police Chief Dan Summers said the people complained of back pain and suffered cuts and bruises, but there were no life-threatening injuries.

The crash happened about 6 p.m. near the intersection of Molunkus Road, when a northbound 1998 Ford pickup truck slowed to turn left into a driveway, Summers said. The truck was hit by a 2000 Buick LeSabre, also northbound, as it attempted to pass the truck.

The truck landed on its side. Both vehicles were heavily damaged, but police on Monday had no estimates of how much damage there was.

Injured in the crash were Charles Lovelace, 70, the driver of the pickup truck, and his wife, Winnie, 67, both of Sangerville. Ashley Nanny, 11, also was a passenger in the truck.

In the Buick, Michelle Tice, 25, the driver, along with passenger Brian Bishop, 29, both of Skowhegan, were treated and released from the hospital.

The accident remains under investigation, Summers said Monday. Not all of the people involved in the accident have been interviewed by police because of their injuries.

Summers said it did not appear that excessive speed was a factor in the accident. He said blood alcohol tests were performed on both drivers, as is routine in personal injury accidents.
