BOSTON — Former Massachusetts U.S. Sen. Scott Brown says he and his wife are moving to New Hampshire for “strictly personal” reasons and that he has made no decisions about his political future.

Brown, who has been mentioned as a possible Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in New Hampshire, made the statement Thursday, the same day he will be the featured guest at the New Hampshire Republican State Committee’s holiday party in Nashua.

He and his wife, Gail Huff, recently sold their home in Wrentham, Mass.

Brown recently launched a political action committee in New Hampshire and has been mentioned as a possible challenger to Democratic U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen.

His statement did underscore his “long and strong ties to the Granite State,” and noted his first home was in New Hampshire.
