AUBURN — A judge has ruled that discussion of incriminating text messages will be allowed at the trial of a Lewiston man charged with killing a woman.

A witness said she received the messages from defendant Buddy Robinson’s cellphone.

The Androscoggin County Superior Court justice also ruled that tower data relating to Robinson’s cellphone use at the time Christiana Fesmire went missing in July 2011 will be allowed.

The Sun Journal reports that jury selection is scheduled for Monday.

Prosecutors say the 31-year-old Robinson beat and drowned the 22-year-old Fesmire then drove her body to a wooded area and dumped it. The body has never been found.

The pair lived in different units of the same Lewiston apartment building.

Robinson’s lawyer says evidence points to an alternate suspect.
