AUGUSTA — Kaplan University’s Augusta campus is now offering its new prelicensure bachelor of science degree in nursing, according to a news release from the for-profit college.
The college said the degree program will help fill the state’s need for qualified nurses and assist in closing a persistent skills gap in Maine.
Based from Kaplan University’s new 19,500-square-foot campus, the new program is designed to equip students with the education and training needed to offset a decline in the number of qualified nurses, according to the release.
“The program incorporates our finest technologies including online learning, advanced laboratory space, simulation experiences and partnerships with local healthcare providers,” said Dr. Colleen Dutile, director of nursing at Kaplan University Maine.
