WARREN — A band comprising Maine State Prison inmates will be autographing CDs during their first public concert at the state’s maximum security prison.
The band “Sounds of Comfort” will play songs focusing on prison, death and redemption that were recorded in the prison chapel.
The band formed by members of a hospice care program that trains inmates, who are often like family to one another, to provide end-of-life care. There are currently a dozen volunteer participants in the prison.
The band will play from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the visitation center.
