WILL YOU MARRY ME?: Madawaska’s Ashley Hebert gets engaged to J.P. Rosenbaum on the finale of “The Bachelorette.”

Hebert and fiance J.P. Rosenbaum have signed a deal with ABC to film their marriage ceremony.
“The Bachelorette: Ashley and J.P.’s Wedding” will air in December. It will include everything from Hebert’s dress fitting and wedding planning to the bachelor and bachelorette parties.

Hebert, 28, works as dentist in Philadelphia. Rosenbaum, 35, works in construction in New York.
Hebert, who grew up in the paper mill town of Madawaska on the Canadian border and went to the University of Maine, spent much of 2011 on TV. Beginning in January of that year, Hebert competed for Brad Womack’s affections on ABC’s the “The Bachelor.” She was then chosen to be the star of the weekly ABC series “The Bachelorette.”

After accepting Rosenbaum’s wedding proposal on “The Bachelorette,” Hebert said she wanted to stay out of the limelight for a while and get to know her new fiance - who had courted her only on TV.
She said in August of 2011 that people would not be seeing her on TV anytime soon.

“Not unless you TiVoed the episodes (of “The Bachelorette”),” she said at the time.

Neither ABC nor Hebert would say how much money she got for starring on “The Bachelorette.”
Hebert said when “The Bachelorette” was over that she thought the experience might have made she and her fiance closer than if they were dating in a more traditional setting.

‘’The show really brought us together, ‘’ Hebert said. ‘’We confided in each other, we communicated, dealt with jealousy and insecurity, and now we’re out in the real world. We’ve been engaged for two months but it feels like we’ve been together for years.’’

Filming is under way for the next season of “The Bachelor,” with 24 women competing for the affection of Dallas businessman Sean Lowe. The new season will premiere in January.
