Most area schools remain open, Madison will close

Madison-based School Administrative District 59 dismissed students at 1 p.m. today and all after school activities will be canceled due to the weather.

Tonight’s school board meeting is also canceled.

Anson-based School Administrative District 74, which includes schools in Anson, Embden, New Portland, North Anson and Solon, will be closed for the day and has also canceled all afterschool activities.

Most other area school districts will remain open, including:

AOS92 (Waterville, Winslow and Vassalboro)

SAD53 (Pittsfield, Detroit, Burnham)

SAD49 (Albion, Benton, Clinton, Fairfield)

SAD54 (Canaan, Cornville, Mercer, Norridgewock, Skowhegan and Smithfield)

RSU18 ( Belgrade, China, Oakland, Rome and Sidney)

Bingham-based SAD13 had a one-hour delay but will be open the rest of the day.
