RYE, N.H. — A New Hampshire man is donning an armored wetsuit to guard against sharks for a seven-mile swim from Rye to the Isles of Shoals.

Josh Blake made a similar trip in 2009, but cut short an attempt in 2010 when he thought he saw a shark in the water.

For Sunday’s swim, the Rye man is testing out an armored wetsuit he designed by cutting lobster trap into pieces and then attaching it to one of his suits.

The Portsmouth Herald reports Blake is raising money through his swim for a project to put solar panels on Portsmouth High School.
