PINKHAM NOTCH, N.H. — At least one New Hampshire ski resort is closed for now because of the bitter cold temperatures and wind chill warnings.
Mount Washington Observatory: Current summit conditions
Wildcat Mountain in New Hampshire's White Mountains region is closed for skiing Wednesday and Thursday. The resort says the weather will create unsafe conditions for guests and employees. The resort was expecting to reopen Friday.
The resort says the forecast on Wednesday is calling for temperatures in the negative double digits and a wind chill of 48 degrees below zero.
Temperatures were low across the state Wednesday morning, but no records were recorded. With the wind chill, the temperature at Mount Washington was 84 below zero.
