NEWPORT — Residents in Newport-based School Administrative District 19 voted to accept a $22.65 million school budget for the 2013-2014 school year on Tuesday, according to the superintendent’s office.

Seven out of the eight towns in the district approved the budget with an overall vote of 969-679.

Hartland was the only town to reject the budget, where it was defeated 83-76.

In the district’s other towns, the budget passed in Corinna 176-91, Dixmont 96-50, Etna 52-31, Newport 232-144, Palmyra 145-96, Plymouth 75-68 and St. Albans 117-116 .

This was the second time residents voted on the budget. It was previously defeated on June 18.
