NEWBURGH — Authorities say no one was hurt when a small plane outfitted with skis instead of wheels flipped over on a snowy Newburgh airfield.
The private single-engine plane flipped onto its roof at about 3 p.m. Wednesday.
The Penobscot County Sheriff's Department tells WABI-TV the plane was taxiing on the runway when one of the skis snagged in the snow, causing the flip.
The pilot, the only person on board, was not hurt.
The Federal Aviation Administration has been notified.
The plane has since been released to the owner.
