WEST FORKS — Searchers quickly found a 3-year-old child with autism who was reported missing Thursday night near U.S. Route 201, according to state police.

State police had set up a search perimeter at 8:30 p.m. after receiving a report about the child’s absence around 8:15 p.m., according to a state police dispatch. The child was found about 9 p.m.

Maine State Police, the Maine Warden Service and a police dog unit were involved in the search, according to state police dispatch.
