The break-in at Unity Pharmacy, which is inside Edwards Family Shop 'N Save, occurred early Sunday morning, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland said in a release Tuesday.

He said surveillance camera photos show the burglar is about 5 feet, 6 inches tall, thin and has dark hair.

McCausalnd said the burglar cut a hole through an exterior wall of the building to get inside and the surveillance photos show him in the pharmacy.

The burglar got away with a backpack full of prescription drugs, McCausland said.

The most recent robbery in Unity was at Down East Credit Union, which was robbed at gunpoint July 29, 2011.

Unity Pharmacy was last robbed Jan. 21, 2005, when Shawn D. Kivlin, 29, of Unity, showed a gun and butcher knife and demanded drugs. Pharmacist Shane Savage filled the prescription bottles with M&Ms, then followed Kivlin when he fled, according to a Morning Sentinel story.

Kivlin was arrested in Appleton after a chase by state police and was later sentenced to 30 years in prison, all but 10 years suspended.

McCausland asked anyone with information on Sunday's burglary call Trooper Bethany Robinson at 624-7076.
