Maine State Police have charged two men with burglary following their arrests Tuesday in Plymouth, where a homeowner reportedly found them in his barn.

The men, James Field, 25, of Pittsfield, and Jacob Graham, 18, of Hartland, were taken into custody after troopers followed them into nearby woods, tracking them with a police dog off Moosehead Trail, according to Steve McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety.

Police allege the two men also are responsible for five other daytime burglaries that took place this week in Pittsfield, St. Albans and Harmony.

State troopers said they recovered was a variety of household items, including a TV, ice auger, electronics, work boots and collectibles, McCausland said. The two were taken to the Penobscot County Jail in Bangor and were released on bail. All of the buildings the pair allegedly entered either were vacant or the occupants were away, McCausland said.
