SKOWHEGAN — A Milburn Street man was taken by helicopter to a Bangor hospital Monday night after being stabbed in the kitchen of his apartment.

David Greene, 34, of 33 Milburn St., suffered three or four stab wounds at the base of his head in a disagreement with people attending a party at his home, Police Chief Ted Blais said Tuesday.

“It was a very bloody scene,” Blais said. “It could have been life-threatening.”

Skowhegan police along with state police, county deputies and fire and rescue personnel responded to call on the south side of Skowhegan about 11 p.m. A LifeFlight helicopter took Greene from Redington-Fairview General Hospital in Skowhegan to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.

Blais said by early afternoon Tuesday there had been no arrests in connection with the attack and no weapon had been found.

“It was a disagreement and there were relationships involved,” he said. “Up until today, it was really difficult because the people involved have been very uncooperative. Today things have changed a little bit.”

Blais said Greene was released from the hospital Tuesday and is cooperating with the police investigation. Blais said he expects an arrest soon.
