CAMDEN — Hundreds of teams are racing their toboggans down a 400-foot toboggan chute in the snowstorm-delayed National Toboggan Championships in Camden.

Saturday’s opening events were postponed, so all of the racing with two-, three- and four-person teams in old-school wooden toboggans were being held Sunday.

Rhode Island resident Bruce Dancause, whose team is dubbed “Super Adventure Danger League,” says he doesn’t mind the snow. He says it might even make the chute faster.

The competition is now in its 23rd year and draws participants from around the country, raising money for the town-owned Camden Snow Bowl ski area.
