SOLON — The cause of a brush fire that destroyed two and a half acres of woods near U.S. Route 201 on Sunday is under investigation, according to Fire Chief Ronald Brown.

The fire was reported around 4 p.m. by a passerby said Brown. Firefighters from four departments responded and it took them about four hours to extinguish the fire, said Brown. Firefighters from Anson, Bingham, Madison and Solon responded.

The land is private property, owned by Richard Padham, said Brown.
