Lori Fowle, D-Vassalboro, defeated incumbent Karen Foster, R-Augusta,
2,513 to 2,069 in the House District 58 race.

Fowle took one of the district’s three communities, winning in Vassalboro 1,416 to 903.

Foster won the  district’s part of Augusta 540-516 and in Windsor 626-581 .

Fowle, 50, served nine years on the school board and has been on the budget committee for four years. She owned Prime Cut hair salon in the Waterville Concourse for 10 years before selling it in 1998 to stay home and raise three children.
