Vassalboro woman arrested on drug charge after traffic stop

Elizabeth Munster had two warrants out for her arrest when she was pulled over in Waterville, and police found crack cocaine in her car, police said.

Staff Report

WATERVILLE — A routine traffic stop led to the arrest of a Vassalboro woman on a crack cocaine possession charge Thursday night, according to police.

Elizabeth Ann Munster, 32, of Oak Grove Road, Vassalboro, was arrested after the 1995 Jeep she was a passenger in was pulled over on Elm Street, according to Deputy Chief Charles Rumsey of the Waterville Police Department. Munster had two warrants out for her arrest on a previous failure to appear charge stemming from a charge of operating a vehicle while her license was suspended, Rumsey said.

Upon searching her, an officer found a half-gram of crack cocaine and a hypodermic needle in her pocket, Rumsey said.

Munster was arrested on the two warrants and also charged with unlawful possession of a scheduled drug, a class C felony, and for violating the conditions of her release. Munster has a March 11 court appearance at Kennebec County Superior Court in Augusta.

The driver of the vehicle, Donald R. Gordon, 47, of Franklin Street in Augusta, was summoned on a charge of possession of marijuana during the traffic stop, Rumsey said.
