AUGUSTA — A Wayne woman was arraigned Wednesday in Kennebec County Superior Court on a 90-count indictment charging her with participating in a three-month burglary and theft spree last year that spanned a number of towns in western Kennebec County.
Rebecca Lee, 39, was arrested Tuesday afternoon on a warrant on that indictment, which was handed up by a Kennebec County grand jury last week.
She pleaded not guilty to the charges and her bail was set at a $5,000 unsecured bond.
A codefendant, Justin L. Ross, 36, of Ellsworth and at one time of Wayne, was arrested in October and was indicted on the same charges last week.
In November, the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office gave victims of the burglaries and thefts an opportunity to identify and reclaim their property. At that point, law enforcement agencies had identified 57 victims from several towns, including Fayette, Winthrop, Wayne, Mount Vernon and Vienna.
Police say a number of the items reported stolen were found on property where Lee lives at 186 Maine St. and at a site in Livermore Falls.
Charges against Lee include 38 counts of burglary, 35 counts of theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, 16 counts of criminal mischief and one count of burglary of a motor vehicle.
