Winslow Democrat beats incumbent in House District 54

Democratic challenger Catherine Nadeau beat incumbent Republican Susan Morissette by 33 votes Tuesday to win the House District 54 seat representing Winslow and part of Benton.

Nadeau won in Benton 134-126 and Winslow 2,038 to 2,013.

Nadeau, 54, a longtime town councilor in Winslow, made education the cornerstone of her campaign.
