STAFF REPORT
MANCHESTER -- The Planning Board meets Tuesday to discuss a possible proposal for a multi-family housing development off Western Avenue.
The town has not received a formal proposal, but landowner Dave Hastings is scheduled to meet with planners about a possible major subdivision on land he owns near the Augusta Country Club, in the Community Residential District.
Code Enforcement Officer Paul Mitnik said the proposal is in the early stage and the potential developer wants to talk with planners before moving forward.
The board meets 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Town Office.
The board is also scheduled to:
* consider a proposal from Sargent Corp. to conduct rock extraction at a gravel pit on Summerhaven Road, in the aquifer management overlay district;
* consider a proposal from Gary Violette for a new garage adjacent to Cobbossee Lake at 80 Cobbossee Lane, in the conditional use shoreland district;
* consider a proposal from Jason Black to move an automobile repair and sales business from Summerhaven Road to Belgrade Road, which would require a special exception permit since it's in a rural residential district;
* discuss adding a provision to the land use ordinance requiring contractors who work within the shoreland zone to be certified by the state Department of Environmental Protection in erosion control.
