OLD TOWN — Police say one man has died and three passengers have been injured in a single-vehicle crash in Old Town.
Authorities say 23-year-old Jonathan Worster of Carmel was behind the wheel of the Dodge Caliber when it struck a utility pole and rolled over just before 5 a.m. Sunday. Worster was ejected and pronounced dead at a hospital.
One of the passengers, a 21-year-old Brewer man, was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated by firefighters before he was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The other passengers, a 24-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man, escaped from the vehicle on their own and also required hospitalization.
Their names were not released.
The accident remains under investigation but police say speed may have been a factor.
