"I have no further comment on the Emery story," Skowhegan police Chief Michael Emmons said Thursday. "The case is under investigation. No charges have been filed."
There were no reports of injuries in the incident, in which more than a dozen officers from four agencies converged on Palmer Road, where Emery owns a home, Monday afternoon after a report of a "mental subject" -- a police radio term.

Emery's leave of absence coincides with a report that 15 officers -- including Emmons, Somerset County Detective Lt. Carl Gottardi, Somerset County Chief Deputy Dale Lancaster, state police and officers from the Fairfield and Skowhegan police and the Somerset County Sheriff's Office -- along with an emergency medical service unit, were called to an address on the road at 2:49 p.m. Monday.
Fairfield police Sgt. Matthew Bard said that in Emery's absence, Detective Sgt. Kingston Paul, who is the highest-ranking officer, and he will share leadership duties in the department.
Messages left at Emery's home and on his cellphone were not returned Wednesday and Thursday.
