Bangor man gets 2 years, 9 months on firearms conviction

BANGOR — An Industry man was sentenced to 33 months in prison for possession of a firearm by a felon, according to an announcement Tuesday by U.S. Attorney Thomas E. Delahanty II.

The man, Paul J. Brackett, 40, also was sentenced to three years’ supervised release in U.S. District Court by Chief Judge John A. Woodcock Jr., the news release said. Brackett pleaded guilty to the charge on Sept. 18 and had two previous felony convictions, according to the release.

He was arrested Feb. 7, 2012, after his car went off a road in Eustis and a Maine warden found him nearby with a loaded Glock .45 caliber pistol, according to the release. The warden also found a loaded AR-15 rifle in the car’s back seat and a .22-caliber rifle and more ammunition in the trunk, it said.

8:32 p.m., suspicious activity was investigated on College Avenue at Bell Street.

11:07 p.m., a report of harassment was investigated at Waterville Housing Authority Chaplain Hillside Co. on Hillside Avenue.

Tuesday, at 8:15 a.m., harassment was reported on Sherwin Street.

Summonses

IN OAKLAND, Monday, at 3:02 p.m., William J. Taylor, 19, of Middle Road, was summoned on a charge of passing a stopped school bus, on Smithfield Road.

IN WATERVILLE, Monday, at 12:53 p.m., Erica B. Barber, 30, of Leighton Road, Augusta, was summoned on a charge of operating while license suspended or revoked.

Tuesday, at 2:54 a.m., Michael Capriole, 47, of Silver Street, was arrested on charges of violating conditions of release and on a probation hold.

Arrests

IN OAKLAND, Monday, at 4:16 p.m., Bradley Jay Bessey, 42, of Norridgewock Road, Fairfield, was arrested on two warrants and charges of attaching false plates and operating while his license was suspended or revoked, on Summer Street.

7:39 p.m., Derick M. Taylor, 32, of Heath Street, was arrested on a warrant, on Heath Street.
