Madison man pleads not guilty to child porn charge

BANGOR -- A Madison man made his first appearance in U.S. District Court last week on a charge of possession of child pornography.

Lester Brown, 61, of Madison, pleaded not guilty during his appearance on Friday. He is charged with possession of child pornography between June 29, 2011, and Nov. 2, 2012, according to Assistant U.S. Attorney General Andrew McCormack.

McCormack said Brown's conditions of release included no use of computers and no contact with children. Brown's next appearance in court has not been scheduled, McCormack said.

9:21 a.m., an animal complaint was reported on North Road.

IN EMBDEN, Tuesday at 8:45 p.m., a report of theft was investigated on Kennebec River Road.

Wednesday at 10:11 a.m., harassment was reported on Kennebec River Road.

IN FAIRFIELD, Tuesday, at 1:15 p.m., a report of a missing juvenile was taken at Halcyon House on Middle Road.

2:06 p.m., a report of an erratic vehicle was investigated on Norridgewock Road.

Wednesday, at 12:22 a.m., a report of violation of bail or protection order was investigated on Winter Street.

2:38 a.m., a harassment complaint was reported on Winter Street.

IN FARMINGTON, Tuesday at 10:23 a.m., a motor vehicle accident with injuries was reported on Wilton Road.

IN HARTLAND, Tuesday at 4:41 p.m., an animal complaint was reported on Great Moose Drive.

IN MADISON, Tuesday at 5:23 p.m., theft was reported on Russell Road.

6:25 p.m., a report of suspicious activity was investigated on Robbins Road.

IN NORRIDGEWOCK, Tuesday at 5:24 p.m., a report of burglary was investigated on Meadow Ridge Road.

7:21 p.m., police received a complaint from Mechanic Street about an animal.

IN OAKLAND, Tuesday, at 11:54 a.m., a fire call was reported on West River Road.

12:52 p.m., reported fraud or forgery was investigated on Forest Avenue.

1:59 p.m., reported theft was investigated on Water Street.

3:07 p.m., a protection order was reported served on Church Street.

IN PALMYRA, Wednesday at 8:48 a.m., a report of theft was investigated on Webb Ridge Road.

IN PITTSFIELD, Tuesday at 8:06 p.m., a report of domestic disturbance was investigated on Somerset Avenue.

IN SKOWHEGAN, Tuesday at 4:50 p.m., police received a complaint from Sunnyview Lane about an animal.

10:16 p.m., a domestic disturbance resulted in a warning on Water Street.

Wednesday at 9:44 a.m., police received a complaint from East River Road about an animal.

IN WATERVILLE, Tuesday at 11:27 a.m., threatening was reported at the U.S. Post Office on College Avenue.

3:15 p.m., a vehicle burglary was reported at Ken-A-Set Project Leaf on North Street.

3:50 p.m., a vehicle accident involving personal injury was reported on Main Street.

4:18 p.m., threatening was reported on Kennedy Memorial Drive.

7:11 p.m., a caller from Oak Street reported receiving a harassing or obscene phone call.

8:37 p.m., sex offenses were reported on Cool Street.

11:18 p.m., a fight was reported on North Street.


IN FRANKLIN COUNTY, Tuesday, John Gill, 77, of New Sharon, was arrested on the charge of class D stalking.

IN OAKLAND, Tuesday, at 4:53 p.m., Roxane Marie Montgomery, 45, of Hussey Hill Road, was arrested on charges of misuse of the E911 system and refusing to submit to arrest or detention, on Hussey Hill Road.

IN WATERVILLE, Tuesday at 10:30 a.m., Jonathan Torres, 29, of 20 Nelson St., was arrested on a charge of domestic-violence assault.

11:38 a.m., Adam Singleton, 26, of 19 Brook St., was arrested on a warrant, on Common Street.
