AUGUSTA -- High winds knocked out electricity to about 28,600 Central Maine Power customers, mostly in Cumberland and York counties, Friday evening, according to the company.
Outage reports began in the late afternoon, according to the 5 p.m. company update. There were more than 12,600 outages each in Cumberland and York counties.
The company also reported 640 outages in Kennebec County, 601 in Lincoln, 302 in Sagadahoc, 106 in Franklin, 52 in Somerset and 9 in Waldo.
