Smithfield to hold elections, town meeting Saturday

SMITHFIELD -- Town elections and the annual town meeting will be held Saturday, at the Municipal Building at 926 Village Road.

Elections are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The incumbent town officers seeking new terms are unopposed.

The town meeting will start at 7 p.m., also at the Municipal Building. Proposed appropriations are $651,741, a decrease of $25,603 from 2009. This includes final payments on the sand and salt shed and fire truck loan accounts, and requests of $10,000 each for capital improvement and equipment improvement reserve funds.
