STARKS -- Kerry Hebert, the 56-year-old Starks man who was shot near his home after an altercation with a hunting party Wednesday afternoon, is undergoing more surgery Sunday, according to his wife, Town Clerk Jenn Hebert.

"He is doing OK but more surgery is needed for his wound," she said from the Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, where her husband is undergoing treatment, on Saturday afternoon.
A nursing supervisor said Kerry Hebert was in fair condition.
Meanwhile, police continue to investigate.
"No one has been arrested yet and it is likely that this case will take a couple of weeks to complete," said Chief Deputy Dale Lancaster of the Somerset County Sheriff's Department. "We've cleared the scene but there are more things we need to take to the crime lab and we need to do another interview with Kerry."
"They've told us to be patient and that they haven't finished collecting evidence yet," said Jenn Hebert.
Kerry Hebert was shot in the stomach after an encounter with a group of hunters on his property last Wednesday. According to Erin Norton, a family friend who was with Hebert at the hospital Wednesday night, Hebert was driving home and stopped to speak to some hunters near the base of his property on Mt. Hunger Road. One of the hunters allegedly butted him with a gun and shot him, she said.
Police have not confirmed details of the incident. Earlier in the week, Lancaster said a suspect had been identified but police were not ready to identify that person publicly.
