Americans also should claim world citizenship

I would like to address what I think it means to be an American.

We are America, not as some warm, fuzzy image, nor as an intellectual concept, but in actuality, in form, and substance, in truth. It is important to claim our American heritage, but also important to claim that we are world citizens. No line or wall separates us as Americans from who we are as world citizens.  America is in no way separate from the world.

America’s very consciousness, values, striving — all are similar to all world citizens.  We are the world and world is us.

It is easily understood and an inescapable fact. It is my opinion that this is the kind of citizenship that will bring world peace.
