Candidate waiting until Oct. to put up his signs

I have recently been asked why I am not putting out campaign signs, as has my opponent in the race for Maine House District 88.

Campaign signs seem to be a necessary evil of political campaigns. They spring up like unsightly mushrooms every other fall as Election Day approaches.

I have purchased signs, and I will put them out when the time is appropriate.

The months of August and September are prime time for tourists visiting this area.

Political signs are not what these visitors come to see, and they detract from their experience.

Early October should be the earliest that we have to put up with proliferation of this visual pollution.

I intend to place my campaign signs on the lawns of my supporters the first or second week in October, and to remove them quickly on Nov. 3.
