Roger Clemens has now been indicted for lying to Congress.
I am not a fan of Clemens or even baseball, for that matter.
But the hypocrisy involved in indicting someone for lying to a group of politicians is simply mind-numbing.
We have a health-care system that is nothing less than a disgraceful joke, countless Americans have lost their jobs, and thousands are losing their homes every week.
And our elected officials are worried about a baseball player lying about using steroids. You talk about being out of touch. Who cares whether he used steroids?
We’ve got elderly people forced to decide between eating or purchasing their medications. We have veterans living on the streets, while at the same time able-bodied, healthy bums are sponging off the system.
The American way of life as we know it is dying a slow, torturous death, and no one in Washington seems to care. The dream of a home with a white picket fence is just that, only a dream. For too many Americans, that dream has become a nightmare, and still no one in Washington cares.
They all have good paying jobs with benefits, and they get to vote on their own pay raises.
Why would they care about the hard-working people who put them in office?
It is way past time we made them care. It is time to clean house in Washington.
Oh, if lying to Congress is grounds to be indicted, then every politician in Washington should sew their lips shut to keep from going to prison.
