Benefit supper, auction a great help to fire victims

I am writing to express my sincere gratitude and thanks to the members of the Farmington Grange, the Franklin County Farm Bureau, Giddy-Up & Go 4-H Club and all of the farmers and businesses who worked and/or donated items to make the Knowlton Corner Farm benefit supper and auction such a success.

The positive response I received from so many farmers in the area was truly heartwarming. As a result of the generosity of those listed above, few items needed to be purchased for the supper, which meant that all proceeds of the event could be passed directly to Bob Govoni and Arleen Masselli, whose barn and riding stable burned recently.

In addition, the diversity of agricultural products available in this area meant that 20 different local products were used to produce the meal that was served.

The auction had more than 90 donated items, the quality, value and variety of which were exceptional.

The people in this region are fortunate to have caring neighbors and businesses that are willing to help when the need arises.
